These guidelines help authorized law-enforcement officials submit requests for Link2Nite account records. They do not create rights beyond applicable law or waive any objection.
Submitting a request
Email requests from an official government address to support@link2nite.com with the subject Law Enforcement Request. Include:
- agency, officer name, badge or identification number, and official contact details;
- the legal authority and a signed copy of applicable process;
- the Link2Nite account identifier, such as verified email or profile ID;
- the specific records requested and a narrow date range;
- the response deadline and any legally supported nondisclosure requirement.
Emergencies
If there is an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, use the subject Emergency Law Enforcement Request and describe the emergency, the person at risk, the requested records, and how disclosure may prevent harm. Contact local emergency services first. Submission does not guarantee disclosure.
Preservation and international requests
Clearly label preservation requests and identify the account and preservation period. Requests from outside the jurisdiction where records are maintained may require an applicable treaty or other valid legal process.
User notice and authenticity
Link2Nite may notify an affected user unless prohibited by valid legal process or when notice could create a risk of harm. We may verify the identity and authority of the requester and reject requests that are overbroad, informal, or legally insufficient.
